This is the 10th year the 8-man football activities have come to Miami.
“Eight-Man Week is an exciting time for the city of Miami,” Amanda Davis, Miami CVB executive director, said in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming the players, coaches and their families into our community and invited frans to join us at the game on Saturday. The Four-State Area loves football, and this event gives everyone an opportunity to experience the game at its best before the official football season fires back up this fall.”
In addition to the game, the all-star event provides scholarships to some players.
“Each year we present ten $1,000 scholarships,” said Stacey Satterwhite, chair of the local 8-Man Week Planning Committee. “This happens because of the continued support of corporate sponsors and the commitment of the local community and volunteers who work to make this event successful.”
