BLOG: Missouri Southern football's 2014 signing class (UPDATED: 7:15 p.m.)

The day is finally here. It’s National Signing Day, and the Missouri Southern Lions are beginning to officially release the names of their 2014 football signing class as the letters of intent arrive on the fax machine.

Here’s a brief description and links to highlight video footage of the signees Missouri Southern has released so far:

Isaiah Anderson, DE, Coahoma Community College (Miss.), 6-2, 245 – Anderson recorded 41 tackles (22 solo) for Coahoma CC last season.

Martice Buckley, CB, Northeast Mississippi Community College, 5-9, 180 – Buckley was a two-year starter at Northeast, recording 90 tackles and two interceptions. In high school, he was a two-time all-district selection on both sides of the ball.

Hayden Chandler, OT, Coffeyville Community College, 6-3, 300 – Chandler was an all-conference lineman for Coffeyville CC and is a player who could make an immediate impact for the Lions. Before Coffeyville, he played at DeSoto High School.

Demecho Crawford, DL, Independence Community College, 6-2, 260 – A Florissant, Mo., native, Crawford had 13 tackles this past season for Independence CC. He was a three-time all-conference pick at McCleur North High School. According to, he had been receiving interest from Northern Illinois.

Marquez Cohen, CB, Fort Scott Community College, 5-10, 193 – Cohen redshirted at Fort Scott CC and will come to the Lions with four years of eligibility. A Columbus,Ga., native, Cohen was an all-city selection and he was selected to play in the Georgia vs. Alabama all-star game.

Justin Davis, LB, WT White High School (Texas), 6-1, 222 – Davis was his team’s MVP this past season and earned all-district and all-region honors after posting 124 tackles, four forced fumbles and three interceptions.
