McPHERSON, Kan. —
Ozark Christian College’s men raced to a 40-31 halftime lead Saturday and defeated previously unbeaten Central Christian 87-80.
Five OCC players scored in double figures, led by Kyle Wicklund, who had 21 points and 11 rebounds. The Ambassadors made 22 of 26 free throws compared with six of 15 free throws for Central Christian.
Brandon Rogers scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for OCC (8-2). Teammate Zac Hill had 17 points, Darrin Chitwood had 12 points and Marko Mircetic had 10 points. Chris Jones led CCC (10-1) with 19 points.
In the women’s game, Central Christian rolled to a 99-39 victory behind 18 points from Krystina Powell. Sarah Rhodes led OCC with 24 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Central Christian had 37 offensive rebounds that led to 41 second-chance points.
Crowder women fall
NEOSHO, Mo. — Pratt Community College built an eight-point halftime lead and maintained it throughout the second half and handed Crowder College an 86-78 defeat.
Crowder was led by Terai Sadler, who scored seven points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out seven assists and had three steals. Caprese Marshall had a team-high 20 points for the Riders while Camila Lacerda added 16 and Sara Sagely had 15.
Hayli Jo Smith led Pratt with 17 while Ashri Broadwater and Maddie Pendry each added 15.
Crowder (11-3) is off until a Jan. 2 home date against North Central Missouri.
