Skyler Bowlin and Keane Thomann are teammates again.
The former Missouri Southern basketball players have signed professional contracts with Horsens IC in Denmark.
Horsens is a four-time Danish League champion. The team was 24-10 last winter to finish fourth in the league.
Bowlin and Tho-mann are the last two MIAA Players of the Year while at Missouri Southern. Bowlin was a senior in the 2010-11 season and Thomann was a senior last winter.
Bowlin played professionally last fall in Germany, averaging 12.4 points per game for BH Topstar Leifershofen/Standtbergen. He is with the Ringwood Hawks in the Australian State League this summer.
Thomann will be making his professional debut in Denmark.
“The Denmark thing came out of nowhere,” Bowlin said in a press release from the university.
“I saw Keane had signed and he told me his team was looking for a point guard. so I told him to mention my name and see if they were interested. Luckily he and I have the same agent and he sent some film to the team and they liked it.
“It’s going to be great teaming back up with him not only because he’s a great player, but we are still very close friends as well. It will be a great experience and hopefully we can have a successful year with the club.”
Bowlin and Thomann combined to score 3,187 points during their Missouri Southern careers. Bowlin, a 6-foot-3 guard, is fifth on the school’s career scoring charts, one position ahead of the 6-11 Thomann.
Thomann averaged 21.5 points last season and shot 63.3 percent from the field. His 61.5 percent career shooting is the top mark in Lion basketball history.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to get to play with someone that I know as well as Skyler and it’s made even better by the fact that he is such a great player, as well,” Thomann said in the press release.
