EXETER, Mo. —
Wheaton senior Sean Goostree threw a two-hit shutout and struck out 15, leading the Bulldogs past McAuley Catholic 8-0 Wednesday night in the championship game of the Class 1, District 6 baseball tournament.
The Bulldogs, 9-5, will entertain Norwood on Monday in the sectional round of the state tournament.
Goostree went 3-for-3 for Wheaton with two RBI and Jory Bartkosky had a pair of hits and four RBI, including a three-runm double in the fourth inning.
McAuley finished the season with a 9-8 record.
