NORMAN, Okla. —
Cornerback Cortez Johnson is following two of his former coaches and transferring from Arizona to Oklahoma.
Johnson will be reuniting with defensive coordinator Mike Stoops and linebackers coach Tim Kish, who were both on the staff at Arizona last season. Johnson played in eight games and started twice for the Wildcats as a freshman.
Stoops had been the head coach there and Kish was his defensive coordinator before becoming interim coach when Stoops was fired.
Sooners coach Bob Stoops says that connection makes Johnson familiar with Oklahoma’s defensive system.
