Stauffer wins first two matches at NCAA Wrestling Championships

— Blake Stauffer, a sophomore for Arizona State, won his first two matches at the NCAA Wrestling Championships on Thursday at Oklahoma City.

The Neosho High School graduate Michigan’s ninth-seeded Domenic Abounader with a 4-1 decision in the opening round of the 184-pound bracket. Stauffer (27-9) followed with a 7-2 decision over Nebraska’s eighth-seeded Timothy Dudley.

Stauffer advances to face Maryland’s top-seeded and undefeated Jimmy Sheptock (32-0) today.
