Kyndal Clark leads Drake past Missouri State

ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Kyndal Clark scored 15 of her game-high 17 points in the second half and led Drake past Missouri State 81-66 in an opening-round Missouri Valley Conference Tournament with a good dose of local ties.

Clark, from Webb City High School, was 3-for-6 from 3-point range and finished with six rebounds and four steals to lead Drake (11-19) into the a quarterfinal clash with top-seeded Wichita State.

Missouri State ends its season at 14-17 despite solid showings Thursday from three local players.

Exeter’s Whitney Edie scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds and had three steals for the Bears while Kenzie Williams, from Mount Vernon, hit three 3-pointers and finished with nine points and five rebounds. Hannah Wilkerson, from Miller, finished with seven points and five assists.
