JOPLIN, Mo. —
Freeman Rehabilitation and Sports Center will provide free annual preparticipation physical exams to an estimated 2,000 middle school, high school and college athletes.
Offered to nearly 20 local schools, the free physicals will first be available to Joplin middle and high school students on Wednesday, April 10, at Freeman Rehabilitation and Sports Center, 2206 E. 32nd St.
Physicals will be offered to additional schools later this month and again in July.
For 22 years, Freeman has proudly provided this service to the community. More than 75 Freeman doctors, nurses, therapists, and clinicians volunteer their time and talent each night to assist with this service.
Parental consent is required for participation. Consent forms may be located at Missouri State High School Activities Association website or with a school’s athletic director. Each student athlete must have a signed consent form before a preparticipation physical examination can be conducted.

Wednesday, April 10 — 6 p.m., Joplin High School 2013-14 juniors and seniors; 6:30 p.m., Joplin High School 2013-14 freshman and sophomores; 7 p.m., Joplin 2013-14 eighth-grade students; 7:15 p.m., Joplin 2013-14 seventh grade students.
Wednesday, April 17 — 6 p.m., Diamond 2013-14 grades 7– 12; 6:15 p.m., Sarcoxie 2013-14 grades 7– 12; 6:45 p.m., East Newton 2013-14 grades 7– 12.
