The snowfall in Arkansas produced first-round schedule changes today in the annual Neosho Holiday Classic.
Boys basketball teams missing from the opening day will be Morrilton and Van Buren, Neosho athletics director Corey Roy said.
Girls teams unable to make the first day are Van Buren and Forrest City.
Today’s revised girls schedule in the Neosho Middle School gym:
11 a.m.—Carthage vs. Purdy; 12:30 p.m.—Seneca vs. Springdale (Ark.); 2—Webb City vs. Pierce City; 4:30—East Newton vs. Bentonville (Ark.); 6—Neosho vs. McDonald County.
Today’s revised boys schedule in the Neosho High School gym:
12:30—Neosho vs. Bentonville; 2—Carthage vs. St. Joseph Lafayette; 4:30—Webb City vs. West Memphis (Ark.); 6—Pierce City vs. St. Louis Christian; 7:30—McDonald County vs. Kansas City Ruskin.
“There will be a small schedule change on Thursday. But teams unable to make it Wednesday are expected to arrive for Thursday and Friday,” Roy said. “Those teams unable to attend the opening session have taken a forfeit.”
Special events at the tournament — 3-point shooting and slam dunk — will be held after the last scheduled game on Friday night at Neosho High School.
