PITTSBURG, Kan. — Rosters have been announced for the second annual U.S. Army SEK All-Star basketball game on Sunday, April 6.

The girls and boys games, coordinated by radio stations KSEK 1340 The Ticket in Pittsburg and KLKC in Parsons, will be played at the St. Mary’s-Colgan Fieldhouse in Pittsburg.

The girls game will begin at 1 p.m., and the boys game will follow. A 3-point shooting contest will be held between games for boys and girls, and a slam dunk contest is scheduled during halftime of the boys contest.

Other sponsors are the Crawford County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Woody’s Smokehouse and Ace Cronister Hardware.

Rosters — only seniors are eligible to play — were determined by a vote of area high school coaches, who could not vote for their players.

Head coaches are Ted Hill, formerly of Parsons and now at Erie High School, and Danny Brown, former Fort Scott coach who is now at Jayhawk-Linn.

Local television sports personalities will serve as assistant coaches — Steve Slivka and Cody Coil from KOAM/KFJX, Andy Searcy from KODE and Eric Knecht and Morgan Vance from KSNF.

Rosters were determined by a vote of area high school coaches, who could not vote for their players. If a school had more than one player selected, those players were put on opposing teams.
