Rain alters schedule at Nevada Speedway
NEVADA, Mo. — Rain forced cancellation of Saturday night’s Season Championships stock car racing program at the Nevada Speedway.
The revised schedule, with the special Midwest Late Model Racing Association visit scheduled this week, has the Season Championships show reset for Sept. 20.
OCC volleyball sweeps doubleheader
Ozark Christian College breezed in the opener but was pushed to a fifth game in the finale in sweeping a volleyball doubleheader at the OCC gym on Saturday.
The Ambassadors tripped Bible Baptist from Springfield 25-10, 25-7, 25-15 but had to rally to defeat Faith Baptist from Ankeny, Iowa, prevailing 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 29-27, 15-11.
The OCC leader in the opener was Reilly Almoslecher with three kills, two aces and five digs. Brittany Owen, against Faith Baptist, had 10 kills, three blocks and three aces.
OCC (3-5) will travel to Springfield to take on Bible Baptist at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
