Randi Fernsler scored in the fourth minute of overtime, lifting Central Missouri to a 2-1 soccer victory over Missouri Southern on Thursday night at Hughes Stadium.
It was the MIAA opener for both schools.
The Lions (2-2 overall) took a 1-0 lead when Stephanie Heines scored on a pass from Sarah Evers with six minutes left in the first half. The Jennies tied it on a long shot by Melanie Hall midway through the second half.
Central Missouri outshot the Lions 15-8.
Southern will entertain Southwest Baptist at noon Sunday, also at Hughes Stadium.

Outlaws open season Thursday on the road
Chris Oldner takes a cut during the Joplin Outlaws practice Tuesday afternoon. The Outlaws open their season on Thursday night at Rossville and play seven road games before their home opener on June 5.
