Nebraska-Omaha downs Lions

OMAHA, Neb. — Nebraska-Omaha broke a tie with 15 minutes left in the first half and whipped Missouri Southern 4-1 in women’s soccer Saturday.

The Mavericks went ahead on MaryClaire Murnan’s goal.

Southern’s Sarah Evers scored 4:33 into the game on a cross from Stephanie Heines.

VOLLEYBALL

OCC prevails

Ozark Christian College defeated Southwest Christian, hiking its record to 7-5.

The Ambassadors won 25-7, 25-17, 25-9.

OCC leaders were Riley Allmoslecher with seven kills and three aces and Emily Ohmart with 41 assists.

Gorillas split

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg State divided a pair of matches, falling 3-1 to Central Missouri in MIAA action before stopping St. Mary 3-0 at John Lance Arena.

The Gorillas lost 12-25, 25-23, 25-22, 27-25 to Central Missouri.

PSU whipped St. Mary 25-12, 25-15, 25-14. Cartagena led PSU with 11 kills and seven teammates had multiple kills.

PSU, 12-3 overall and 1-2 in the MIAA, will play Wednesday night at Missouri Western in St. Joseph.
