Missouri Southern’s Kimi Shank and Nicole Green sweep the MIAA indoor track and field athlete of the week honors, it was announced Monday.
Shank, a junior from Rolla, placed fourth in the Championship Elite 5,000 meters at last weekend’s Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Her time of 17 minutes, 1.12 seconds set a school record is the 10th fastest time in Division II this season. This is the second time she has won the league’s weekly track award
Green, a junior from Carthage, won the field event award after winning the shot put in Friday’s Pittsburg State Invitational. Her mark of 45 feet, 21/2 inches ranked second this season in the MIAA and 12th in the nation.
