Bolivar's Faulkner wins playoff for 16-18 junior title

Bolivar’s Marshall Faulkner edged Joplin’s Garrett Craig for first place in the 16-18-year-old boys division of the Harold Kirk Junior Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Schifferdecker Golf Course.

Faulkner and Craig both recorded scores of 75 after 18 holes. Faulkner won the playoff hole. Joplin’s Tamerik Branham finished third with a 77.

Springfield’s Sam Holmes won the 13-15 boys division with a 77. Nevada’s Patrick Ferry was second with a 78, and Nixa’s Joseph Walegir was third with an 82.

Nick Kindler, of Overland Park, Kan., won the nine-hole 10-12 boys division with a 41. Joplin’s Billy Sticklen was third with a 44. Willard’s Gregory Mitchals and Landon Rothgeb tied for third with 45s.

Nick’s younger brother, Noah Kindler, won the boys 9-and-under division. Justin McReynolds, of Joplin, won the 8-year-old division, and Jace Wilson, of Joplin, won the 7-year-old group.

Hannah Householder, of Milo, won the girls 16-18 division with a 91. Joplin’s Chanci McGowen was second with a 107.

Carthage’s Kylie Carnes won the 13-15 girls division with a 91. Joplin’s Anna Lorio won a scorecard playoff for second place over Jolin’s Kaitlyn Gilliland as both posted 98s.

Joplin’s Taylor Yuhas won the 10-12 girls division with a nine-hole score of 47. Springfield’s Courtney Ulrich-Campbell was second with a 55, and Carl Junction’s Jenna Teeter finished third with a 57.

Hailey Bryant, of Carthage, was first in the girls 9-and-under division, while Gracy Ryan, of Galena, Kan., was second.
