Glendale 1, Joplin 0

Joplin coach Ed Miller said what would prove to be Glendale’s game-winning goal was deflected, just not solidly enough.

A defensive breakdown at midfield allowed McKenzie Robbins to race downfield and sneak a shot past keeper Megan Rowe.

“We just had one mistake and they capitalized on that one mistake,” Miller said.

Neither team scored in the opening half and Joplin didn’t manage a shot until the second when the Eagles had seven shots on goal. Rowe stopped 15 of Glendale’s 16 shots.
