Drake, Gastineau grab wins at Monett Speedway

Webb City’s Scott Drake beat points leader J.C. Morton of Springfield in the USRA B modified main event on Sunday night at the Monett Speedway.

Drake entered the show No. 10 in points on the 3/8-mile clay track.

Fred Mattox, Drumright, and Johnny Kent, Tulsa, rounded out the top five in the A feature.

Passmore, winning for the fifth time this season, beat Mattox and Gastineau on Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway near Fort Smith.

Joplin’s John Coats won the factory stock A feature to increase his points lead.

Rick McNally (pure stock) and Russell Niehoff (pro-4) also were main event winners.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Webb City’s Mitch Keeter held off repeated challenges from Carthage’s Jackie Dalton to capture the USRA modified A feature on Saturday night during Mid-Season Championships at the quarter-mile dirt track.

Joplin’s John Yeoman, Neosho’s Danny DeMasters II and Willard’s Robbie Bryant trailed Dalton.

Springfield’s J.C. Morton, in a reverse of Sunday’s result at Monett, beat Webb City’s Scott Drake in the USRA B modified main event.

Completing the A feature winners at Springfield were Webb City’s Trevor Drake (Midwest Modz), Joplin’s Tyler Horton (Legends Cars), Miami’s Bret Testerman (pure stock), Ava’s Rex Sawyer (street stock) and Nixa’s Wesley Smith (Legends Young Lions).

Scott Drake and son Trevor finished as first-half points champions. Also, Testerman and Ava’s Jack Hamer tied for the first-half title in pure stock. Springfield’s Jim Reid (street stock) and Smith (Legends Young Lions) also reigned.
