Last week, the Pittsburg City Commision approved a recommendation by City Manager Daron Hall to hand over $5 million dollars of the city's revolving loan fund to Pittsburg State's $17 million indoor event center.

What does theat mean for Pitt State football? Simply, the Gorillas are one step closer to having an indoor practice facility.
Sure, the plans for the facility include a 300-meter track and permanent seating that would put PSU in the running for the NCAA Division II national indoor meet. And -- this is the part that made the City of Pittsburg pony up their cash -- the building will be used to host trade shows and such when available.
But let's be real. This is, for the most part, a football project. One that will help keep Pitt State toward the top of the recruiting game.
Plans include an 80-yard practice field, new weight rooms (with the old weight room being converted into a new state-of-the-art film room), new meeting rooms and more.
