WASHBURN, Mo. —
James Pettit sank 10 treys and his teammates added six as Southwest defeated Thomas Jefferson 69-46 on Tuesday night in an Ozark 7 Conference boys prep basketball game.
The Trojans’ Pettit, a 6-foot-2 senior, hiked his season total to 86 treys, according to coach Jess Ross.
Southwest (15-9, 5-0) led 37-22 at the half. The Trojans also got 17 points — and three 3s — from Jordan Epling. Drew Farrar sank a pair and Jake Barnes had one.
Justin Brown scored 16 points for the Thomas Jefferson Cavaliers. Tyler Thurman added 12.
Webb City boys 79, Carthage 46
WEBB CITY, Mo. — The Cardinals snapped a four-game losing streak by claiming the Central Ozark Conference Large Division game.
The Cardinals (16-7, 2-3) outscored the Tigers 27-18 in the second period after a 12-12 opening draw.
Kohl Slaughter scored 25 points to pace Webb City. Nate Brown added 17 and Phoenix Johnson tallied 12.
Nathan Reid scored 12 points to lead Carthage (1-4 in the league).
Jasper boys 66, College Heights 46
JASPER, Mo. — Mike Spicer fired in 26 points to lead the host Eagles past College Heights Christian School.
Spicer tallied 18 points in the first half as Jasper (11-13, 3-5 Spring River Valley Conference) built a 31-18 advantage. Dustin Cox chipped in with 13 points for the Eagles.
Ryan Beaver and Luke Cummins scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Cougars (2-18, 0-8).
Conference games on Friday night pit Sarcoxie at College Heights and Lockwood at Jasper.
Jasper girls 65, College Heights 38
JASPER, Mo. — The Eagles outscored College Heights 25-2 in the third quarter to break away from a 30-26 halftime lead.
Lexie Royster’s 14 points led four players in double figures for Jasper (14-11, 6-3 SRVC). Morgan Winchester and Elizabeth Maneval each scored 12, and Adi Etcheson had 11.
Kirsty Green captured game honors with 19 points for the Cougars (6-17, 1-7).; Bri Shores added 11 points.
Carl Junction boys 66, East Newton 38
GRANBY, Mo. — Four Carl Junction players scored in double figures as the Bulldogs defeated East Newton in a Big 8 Conference game.
Matt Magee led Carl Junction with 14 points. Travis Vogt scored 13 points and Dustin Satterlee and Hunter McPherson each scored 10.
The Bulldogs outscored East Newton 20-6 in the second quarter and led 36-22 at halftime.
Bryce Zimmerman led East Newton with 18 points.

Lamar runs to title
