SPRINGFIELD. Mo. — Parkview built a 52-16 halftime lead in claiming an 82-31 girls Ozark Conference win over Joplin Monday night.

Emily Akins, who had four 3s, and Rana Thomas scored 28 and 23 points, respectively, for Parkview.

Joplin (1-3 in the Ozark) received 11 points from Jessie McMullen and 10 from May Lee.

Diamond girls 50, Cavaliers 7

DIAMOND, Mo. — The Diamond Wildcats stormed out to a commanding first half lead in defeating the Thomas Jefferson Cavaliers.

Bri Carneal and Stefani Thomas paced Diamond, who led 31-1 at halftime, with eight points apiece. Megan Wilson and Emily Gilbert followed with seven each. Sally Currence led the Cavaliers with six points.

Webb City girls 74, Aurora 36

AURORA, Mo. — Kaitlin Jaeger’s 27 points helped Missouri’s top-ranked Class 4 team post a 74-36 nonconference victory against Aurora.

The Cardinals (17-1), who led 36-15 at halftime, also got 19 points from Kyndal Clark, who had four treys, and 10 from Summer Greek.

Talia Pilkenton had three 3s in scoring 11 for Aurora.

Cassville girls 43, Bulldogs 37

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Hannah Elkins scored 22 points as the Wildcats logged a 43-37 win to even their Big 8 Conference record at 1-1.

Cassville extended a 39-37 advantage with about 11/2 minutes left in the game.

Carl Junction (1-2 in the league) trailed 21-14 at the half after a one-point second quarter.

Carl Junction received 16 points and 10 rebounds from Lauren McRae and 13 points and eight boards from Mackenzie Valenti.

McAuley Warrior Classic

Defending champion Seneca and East Newton won girls pool games as the annual tournament tipped off.

Seneca defeated Wheaton 65-17 before East Newton trimmed College Heights 46-26.

Springfield New Covenant, the defending boys champion, beat College Heights 85-44 to cap the session.

Today’s schedule is Seneca girls vs. McAuley at 5 p.m., Pierce City girls vs. College Heights at 6:30 and Exeter vs. McAuley in the boys contest.

The East Newton girls, who led 24-7 at the half, received 14 points from Katy Cooper, 13 from Elli Gore and 11 from Lindsey Bragg.

Kelsi Bodine, who sank two 3s, had eight points for CHC.

For Seneca, Jacci Yust tallied 15, Taylor McDaniel 12 and Jordanne Wright 11. Wheaton, which trailed 33-8 at intermission, was paced by Kasey Littlefield with seven points.

The New Covenant boys were ahead 56-27 at the half. They were sparked by Luke Letsinger’s 20 points and Dylan Fieker’s 19.

David Rice and Bro Mbuthia combined for 24 College Heights points.
