A regular weekly show of stock car racing is scheduled tonight at the Monett Speedway.
Classes are DLRA late model, B modified, Midwest Modz, factory stock, pure stock and pro-4.
Bicycle races for kids will be held at intermission.
Gates open at 5 p.m. with races at 7:30 on the 3/8-mile clay track. Admission prices are $12 and $5 (ages 12-15). A pit pass is $25.
Andrew Felker places high
Midget racer Felker, Carl Junction, has turned in a couple of strong performances.
Felker finished fifth in the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series 30-lap main event on Friday night at the quarter-mile Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway.
Winner Ryan Clauson, Noblesville, Ind., nipped Casey Shuman, Rattlesnake Bend, Ariz., by less than a foot.
Felker was No. 1 in national points by 210 through Aug. 13. Dad Danny Felker also moved to No. 1 in owner points.
Andrew Felker finished fourth in the 30-lap main event last Sunday night at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville (Ill.).
Also, Felker was fifth in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series feature.
Rico Abreu, Rutherford, Calif., won the Lucas Oil Midget Series feature. Jeremy Camp was No. 1 in the Outlaw Series main.
United Modified Touring Series
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. — Jon Tesch, Watertown, S.D., won the A feature on Friday night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway.
It was Tesch’s 33rd USMTS victory and netted $3,000. Tesch led the final 24 laps in the Casey’s Cup Series event after taking the lead from Jason Hughes of Watts, Okla.
Hughes wound up second and Springfield’s Jeremy Payne placed sixth.
COMP CAMS Topless 100
LOCUST GROVE, Ark. — Steve Francis, Ashland, Ky., and Chris Madden, Gaffney, S.C., earned front row starting positions on Friday night for Saturday’s A feature at Batesville Motor Speedway.
Francis won the first heat over defending champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn.
Southwest Missouri drivers Will Vaught, Crane, and Jesse Stovall, Galena, also advanced to the main event by placing third in their respective heat races.
Springfield’s Terry Phillips needed to qualify on Saturday night for the 100-lapper worth $40,000 to the winner.
