NEOSHO, Mo. — Khyrstyn Brumley scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to spark the season-opening Crowder women past Neosho County 89-86 on Monday night.
Jaimee Shields added 15 points for the Lady ’Riders, who led 46-45 at the half.
Erin Rust and Sierra McSpadden each grabbed six rebounds for Crowder. Kenzie Lauffer and Sara Paschall had two steals apiece.
Neosho County of Chanute, Kan., received 29 points from Bjonee Reaves and 26 from Kristin Aldridge.
Crowder, in its Classic on Friday, plays Meramec at 7 p.m. The opener at 5 matches Labette and Rend Lake.
NEO men open
season with win
MIAMI, Okla. — Five players scored in double figures as the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M; men opened their basketball season by trimming the Oklahoma Baptist junior varsity 99-69 on Monday night.
NEO entertains 24th ranked Coffeyville at 8 tonight in the NEO Fieldhouse.
Phillipe Martin paced the Golden Norsemen against OBU with 19. Raphael Brown scored 15, Scott Forrest and Will Fonseca 13 and Andre Coimbra 11.
Tanner Streeter poured in 25 for the fledgling Bisons. They hit all 11 trey tries and Streeter was 5-for-5.
Webb City out
in soccer district
MARSHFIELD, Mo. — Bolivar eliminated the Webb City High School soccer team by claiming a 4-0 decision in a semifinal of the Class 2 District 5 Tournament on Monday night.
Bolivar led 3-0 at the half behind Timothy Armstrong’s two goals.
Webb City, according to its statistics, was outshot 23-8 in finishing 12-12.
