Seneca, Eagles tourney favorites
CARTHAGE, Mo. — Seneca and Joplin are the top two seeded boys basketball teams for the 63rd Carthage High School Tournament scheduled Nov. 30-Dec. 5.
Opening games in the tourney on Nov. 30 are No. 4 Carthage vs. Nevada at 6 p.m. and Seneca vs. Cassville at 7:30.
The first round will finish on Dec. 1. Monett challenges Joplin at 6 p.m. and McDonald County tests third-seeded Neosho at 7:30.
The finals session on Dec. 5 tips off at noon with the seventh-place game.
Republic favored at Aurora
AURORA, MO. — Republic’s girls basketball team is seeded No. 1 for the annual Aurora Tournament scheduled Nov. 30-Dec. 5.
Mount Vernon, Purdy and Aurora complete the top four seedings.
The opening session on Nov. 30 has Springfield Central challenging Republic at 6 p.m. and McDonald County testing Aurora at 7:30.
Games on Dec. 1 are Verona vs. Mount Vernon at 6 p.m. and Bolivar vs. Purdy at 7:30.
Three games — starting with consolation at noon — will be held on Dec. 5.
