Webb City girls

favored in meet

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Webb City’s girls are seeded No. 1 in the annual Carl Junction St. John’s Sports Care Classic scheduled next week.

Seneca, defending champion Carthage and Carl Junction are seeded second through fourth, respectively.

Opening games on Monday night are Lamar vs. Webb City at 6 p.m. and Nevada vs. Carl Junction.

The first round winds up Tuesday with Liberal challenging Seneca at 6 p.m. and East Newton testing Carthage at 7:30.

The schedule on Dec. 5 tips off with the seventh-place contest at noon.

Carthage defeated Webb City 57-49 for the championship last season.

Fall Collectibles

Show scheduled

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Barton-Jasper County Collectors Association again will sponsor the 17th annual Fall Collectibles Show on Saturday and Sunday at Memorial Hall, 407 S. Garrison.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. Concessions will be available.

Dealers from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas are expected to offer 53 tables of coin, stamps, postcards and sports memorabilia.
