Three teams remained undefeated as pool play concluded Friday in the annual Premier Baseball Incoming Freshman Championship.
Twelve Baseball in Pool 2, Fayetteville Cardinals in Pool 3 and South Texas Sliders Adams in Pool 4 won two games apiece on Friday to finish with 4-0 pool records. The Cardinals outscored their four opponents by a 25-3 margin, Twelve Baseball by a 53-4 margin and South Texas Sliders Adams by a 41-14 advantage.
Other pool winners — all with 3-1 records — were Rawlings Prospects Bennett in Pool 1, Austin Wings Black in Pool 5 and Columbia Angels in Pool 6.
After the 36 pool games, the 18 team-field has been divided into a 12-team championship bracket and six-team consolation bracket for action this weekend.
Joining the pool winners in the championship bracket are Midwest Twins, Columbia Angels, Arlington A’s White, Austin Wings Red, Team New York and Austin Slam.
Eleven games are scheduled today, starting at 2:30 p.m. at Joe Becker Stadium, Joplin Athletic Complex, Al Ortolani Field in Pittsburg and Homa Thomas Field in Miami. Three games will be played at each site except the Joplin Athletic Complex, which has two games.
