EDMOND, Okla. —
Second-seeded Central Oklahoma took the lead early and blanked Missouri Southern 4-0 Tuesday afternoon in a first-round match of the MIAA women’s soccer postseason tournament.
Kate Foran’s goal off a pass from Stephanie Fleig gave the Bronchos a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute, and Caitlin Bond added an unassisted goal 22 minutes later to make it 2-0 at halftime.
Alyssa Anderson and Elie Aston added second-half goals for the Bronchos (15-1-3).
Central Oklahoma outshot the Lions (5-10-3) by a 21-5 margin. Megan Stueve had two of the Lions’ shots as Megan Burke logged the shutout in goal for UCO.
Missouri Southern’s Abby Risner had two saves in the first half for the Lions, and Beth Hammons made three stops in the second half.
