Webb City runs streak to nine by beating Bolivar 55-41

CAMDENTON, Mo. — Webb City hiked its girls basketball winning streak to nine by beating Bolivar 55-41 as part of the Laker Shootout on Saturday.

The Cardinals, 15-3, led the clash of Class 4 teams 28-17 at the half.

“We gave up too many easy baskets, but are solid all-around,” Webb City coach Brad Shorter said on Sunday.

“We blocked out and rebounded well.

“Our half-court, man-to-man was effective.”

Webb City sank 11 3s with Kaitlin Beason downing four and Mikaela Burgess three.

Beason, a 5-foot-8 senior, and 5-7 Burgess each scored 16 points.

Desirea Buerge, a 6-0 junior, added 12 for the Cardinals.

The Liberators (12-4) were led in scoring by 5-7 senior Shelby Roberts with 16.

Webb City, 1-0 in the Central Ozark Conference Large Division,  resumes in the league by visiting Republic Thursday night.
