Ozark Christian College outshot visiting Barclay for a 97-90 men’s basketball victory and a Midwest Christian College Conference sweep on Saturday.
The Ambassador women won their third straight game in the opener, stopping Barclay 58-38.
Drew Hanson poured in 26 point to top four players scoring in double figures for the Ozark Christian men (14-13 overall, 6-3 conference).
Clancy Allmoslecher had 12 points, Steven Tackett 11 and Paden Bennett 10. The Ambassador reserves outscored their Barclay counterparts 38-16.
Toney Hatton had a 26-point, 13-rebound performance to spark Barclay. Raymond Parker added 19 for the visitors.
Hanson had a team-high nine rebounds for OCC, one more than Allmoslecher.
In the women’s game, OCC raced to a 32-15 halftime advantage and limited Barclay to just 21 percent shooting (13 of 62) in the game.
Melea Cook scored 18 points to lead Ozark Christian and Brittany Owen added 16.
Cook also had 11 rebounds as the Ambassadors edged Barclay 53-50 on the boards. Lacy Bounds had six assists for OCC.
OCC improved to 10-13 overall and 5-2 in the MCCC.
Cottey 83, Forest Park 46
NEVADA, Mo. — Amanda Sanders scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures as Cottey College breezed past St. Louis Community College-Forst Park at the Hinkhouse.
Natascha Lord contributed 14 points, Bailey Beale netted 13 and Alex Noble had 10 for Cottey (11-9), which led 42-19 at halftime. All 10 Cottey players figured in the scoring, and all but three scored in the first half.
Christina Conley scored 21 points — 13 in the second half — for Forest Park.
Jefferson 97, Crowder 38
HILLSBORO, Mo. — Jefferson College took charge early and rolled to a women’s victory.
The Vikings, who placed four players in double figures, rolled to a 48-20 halftime advantage.
Crowder, which has four players out with injuries, fell to 9-14 for the season. Rachel Green had nine points for the Lady Riders. Sierra McSpadden and Khyrstyn Brumley had eight.
