Junior Carita Riutta has joined the growing list of Missouri Southern athletes with provisional qualifying times for the NCAA Division II Indoor National track and field meet.

The Lions had several other strong performances during weekend competition at Iowa State, Central Missouri and the University of New Mexico.

It was the first meet over 15-0 for freshman Juergens.

Seniors Ashley Bunch and Courtney Waltbillig were second and fifth, respectively, in the 5,000 run at Iowa State. Both failed to improve provisional qualifying marks.

High jumpers Corey Reynolds and Chris Brown both cleared 6-81/4, one height short of an automatic qualifying mark, in the meet at New Mexico.

Juniors D.J. Bland and Aki Nummela fell shy of improved marks in the 400 and mile, respectively.
