OCC men run record to 11-2

KANSAS, Okla. — The Ozark Christian College men’s basketball team boosted its record to 11-2 by beating Lincoln (Ill.) Christian 91-82 on Friday in the Cookson Hills Classic.

The Joplin-based Ambassadors entertain Dallas Christian at 3 p.m. today.

OCC coach Chris Lahm said Carthage High School graduate Kyle Wicklund turned in “another monster game” with 35 points and 14 rebounds. Wicklund hit 14 of 19 from the field and 7 of 10 from the foul line.

OCC, which led 46-36 at the half, had three more double-figure scorers — Darrin Chitwood (15), Zac Hill (12) and Kendall Wingert (10). Hill and Cameron Woodring had five assists apiece.

OCC led 42-32 on the boards and was superior from the floor — 53.8 per cent to 44.7. The Ambassadors canned 19 of 27 free throws.

David Graves, who was 11 of 15 from the field, and Brady Cremeens tallied 22 and 20 for Lincoln.
