DGB, Hillcrest top Seneca

— More than 6,000 fans at Fred G. Hughes Stadium plus a national audience tuned in on ESPNU saw Saturday night why Dorial Green-Beckham is considered one of the top high school football recruits in the country.

Green-Beckham snared 18 passes and scored three touchdowns as Hillcrest defeated Seneca 48-26.

Green-Beckham accumulated 284 yards on his 18 catches, including touchdown grabs of 18 yards in the first quarter and 10 and 21 yards in the third period.

Hillcrest quarterback Matt Futrell completed 28-of-47 passes for 473 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions, two of them by Kyler Ng.

Seneca, down 27-6 at half, scored on Payton Rawlins’ one-yard sneak n the first quarter and twice in the third period on Marty Mailes’ one-yard run and Rawlins’ 52-yard strike to Jalen Skaggs. Rawlins hit 6-of-11 passes for 134 yards.

Mailes scored again on a five-yard in the last quarter and finished with 72 yards on 21 carries.
