Brandon Rogers tallied 20 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to spark Ozark Christian College past Union 93-72 Thursday night in the OCC gymnasium.
Rogers, 6-foot-5, 185-pound freshman from Turloc, Calif., hit 9 of 13 field goals and 2-of-4 free throws. His 19 rebounds led the Ambassadors to a 57-32 advantage on the boards, and he also had two assists, one blocked shot and two steals in 30 minutes.
“Brandon Rogers had a great game,” OCC coach Chris Lahm said. “And the bench was big tonight (a combined 28 points and 11 rebounds from five players).”
Kendall Wingert contributed 16 points and four assists for the Ambassadors (7-2), and Darrin Chitwood collected 11 points, four assists and three steals. Kyle Wicklund just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds in just 11 minutes.
The Ambassadors shot 61 percent (26-of-43) while building a 59-40 halftime lead and 51 percent (38-of-74) for the game.
Ben Vasconcellos had 26 points and Chavez Morris 19 for Union.
The Ambassadors travel to McPherson, Kan., to play Central College on Saturday at 5.

Mattison Jenks netted 18 points to lead four players in double figures for Union.
Sarah Rhodes, 6-0 senior from Miami, Okla., captured game honors with 21 points for OCC, hitting 7 of 15 field goals, 2 of 4 3-pointers and 5 of 6 free throws. She also had eight rebounds, and Addy Wood handed out three steals.
