Five Miami wrestlers will compete in the Class 4A Oklahoma High School Wrestling Championships, which begin today at State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City.
“These kids are the hardest working group I’ve had,” said Miami head coach Mark Malcom. “Now it’s time for them to go out there and take their place in history.”
Miami’s lineup in anchored by seniors Jason He at 195, Michael Cox at 145, Steven Boyd at 138 and Eli Hale at 120, along with sophomore Dalton Whitlock at 106.
The last time Miami had more than five qualifiers for the state tournament was 20 years ago, Malcom said.
