JOPLIN, Mo. — Joplin Schools has released virtual tour videos of the proposed Irving Elementary School and combined East Middle School and Duquesne and Duenweg elementary schools.
A vote on the Joplin School District’s proposed $62 million bond issue is less than a week away.
School district officials say it will take an estimated $185 million to replace the schools lost in the May 22 tornado and to do some work at other buildings. They say that after taking into account estimated insurance settlements and other funding, the district is short of the projected total needed by the $62 million they are seeking authority to borrow.
