MSSU announces new in-state tuition plan for residents in neighboring states

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Missouri Southern State University Board of Governors today approved a new tuition plan that will allow qualify students living in large portions of Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Illinois to pay in-state rates to go to MSSU.

Specifically, what is being called the Lion Pride Tuition plan gives the in-state rate of $169.48 per credit hour to students as far west as Wichita, Kan., and as far south as Fort Smith, Ark. It also extends deep into Oklahoma and Illinois.

The new plan will go into effect this fall for students who meet MSSU’s admissions requirements.

“We exist to help students achieve their goals,” Sherry Buchanan, chair of the MSSU Board of Governors, said in a statement. “This plan will make it easier for them to do that.”
