Missouri Southern Foundation hires new development officers

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Missouri Southern Foundation this week announced the hiring of Michelle Ducre and Elisa Bryant as new development officers for major gifts.

Ducre most recently served as regional development director for the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Prior to that she served as the executive director of the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri, which is an affiliate of CFO.

During her time with CFO she managed fund development for seven community foundations and managed more than $10 million in assets that came from disaster recovery, endowments, bequests, donor advised funds and scholarships.   

Ducre also is the former executive director of the Community Clinic in Joplin.

She holds a master's degree from Pittsburg (Kan.) State University and a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University.

Bryant is a 2004 graduate of Missouri Southern State University who has served as alumni relations coordinator for the MSSU Alumni Association since her graduation.

During this time she worked with a variety of alumni activities, including marketing efforts, grants, special events and board relations. Twice she was recognized by her colleagues for her superior work by being named recipient of the Superior Service Award in 2007 and the Southern Service Champ in 2012.

Bryant has a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing.

"We're excited to have Michelle and Elisa joining our team," JoAnn Graffam, executive director of the Missouri Southern Foundation, said in a statement. "They both come with experience and knowledge, as well as a passion for helping Missouri Southern students achieve success."

Both will assume duties with the Foundation on Monday, Jan. 14.

The Missouri Southern Foundation raises funds in support of the students and mission of MSSU.
