JOPLIN, Mo. —
The Jasper County Law Enforcement Sales Tax Board elected Ken Williams, Joplin, as its new chairman during a meeting this morning.
Board members also made changes to the application that will be used to make allocations with the sales tax revenue next year.
The board also decided not to proceed with a previous grant request from the police department at Missouri Southern State University after college officials did not submit a budget as requested, and indicated they wanted to shelve the request for the year.
College officials had previously asked for a grant to help pay for patrol cars and uniforms.
