Freeze tonight could impact sensitive plants

JOPLIN, Mo. — A freeze warning has been issued for tonight by the National Weather Service forecast office at Springfield.

A cold air mass will settle into the region tonight. A clearing sky and slackening winds will allow temperatures to fall below freezing across portions of extreme Southeast Kansas and parts of west-central Missouri.

Freezing conditions are most likely for areas along and northwest of a line from Pittsburg, Kan., to Lamar and Nevada in Missouri.

Temperatures early Thursday morning will be cold enough for patchy frost across the entire forecast area.
