Crowder gets $10,000 grant for firefighter training

NEOSHO, Mo. — Crowder College has been awarded a $10,000 grant through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, Department of Public Safety, to work with Southwest Missouri fire departments to provide needed training for regional fire fighters.

The training will be provided at a variety of locations within the nine-county service region and at times most convenient to the firefighters.

Crowder College has met with firefighter leadership from Joplin, Redings Mill, Carthage, Monett, Neosho and Webb City to discuss the training.

Currently, fire protection personnel must travel long distances for required training. Local training opportunities will reduce travel and personnel costs
