Public Service Commission schedules hearings on Empire revenue increase request

The Missouri Public Service Commission has established hearing schedules in an electric rate case filed by The Empire District Electric Co.

On July 6, Empire requested an increase of about $30.7 million in annual electric revenues. Included as part of that request is an interim rate increase of about $6.2 million.

Hearings on the interim rate request are set for Sept. 10-11.

In the $30.7 million rate request, hearings are to begin on Feb. 18, 2013, and are scheduled through March 1, 2013, if necessary.

All of these hearings will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison St., Jefferson City.
