City officials: Neosho streets passable, but slick

NEOSHO, Mo. — Neosho streets at noon were passable but slick, according to city officials. Residents are advised not to travel following a wintry mix of sleet and snow.

Streets remained covered with a thin blanket of snow as public works employees focused on salting intersections and the more hilly streets. By noon, plows were scraping accumulated snow off the rest or the streets. The city is using three dump trucks and two one-ton pickups equipped with snow plows and salt spreaders.

Crews were scheduled to work until midnight Tuesday and then report back early Wednesday, said public works director Mike Hightower.
