JOPLIN, MO —
Gregan Douglas Sweet, age 59, of Joplin, passed away from injuries sustained in the tornado on May 22, 2011.
Born Jan. 6, 195, in Joplin, he was the son the late Nathan and Evelyn Johnson Sweet.
He was a member of Citywide Christian Fellowship in Joplin and worked as a carpenter in residential building for many years of his life. He also did prison ministry with the Bill Glass Team.
He married Vickie L. Fort on July 7, 1977, in Joplin; she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Laramie Sweet, of the home; a son, Paul Sweet, of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Byran Sweet and his wife, Kuemok, of Gladstone, Mo.; one step-brother, Terry Jackson, of Dallas, Texas; and three step-sisters, Janet Fletcher, of Neosho, Nancy Woodley, of Neosho, and Cathy Jackson, of Dallas.
Gregan is also survived by his special brother and sister in Christ, Brett Fowler and his sister, Laurie Fowler.
A memorial service to celebrate Gregan’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 29, at Calvary Baptist Church in Joplin.
