JOPLIN, MO —
Shirley Ann Parker, 68, of Joplin, Mo., died Sunday, May 22, 2011, in the tornado that devastated Joplin.
She was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Sterling, Kan., the daughter of Kenneth and Rosemary (Greene) Stange.
She was married to Ronnie G. Parker, and later divorced.
Shirley was a mammography technician at Loveless Health Care System in Albuquerque, N.M., for many years, she retired in 2008.
Survivors include a son, Greg Parker and fiancé, Jennifer Willey, of Pittsburg; a daughter, Stephanie Woods and husband, Joseph, of Joplin; along with six grandchildren, Jessawynne Parker, Shelby Ann Woods, Alexis Kathryn Woods, Mitchell William Woods, Daniel Thomas Willey and Connor Peyton Willey. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Dee Stange.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, Kan. Inurnment of her cremains will be Saturday, June 11, in the Sterling Community Cemetery in Sterling, Kan.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 South Broadway, Pittsburg.
