GALENA, KS —
Michael Wayne Dennis, age 52, of Galena, Kan., passed away at 11:57 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, at St. John’s Medical Center in Springfield, from complications due to injuries he sustained in the May 22nd Joplin tornado, while he was a patient at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
Born April, 7, 1959, in Parsons, Kan., he was the son of the late Wayne Dennis and Shirley Cowley Dennis and lived in the Columbus and Baxter Springs, Kan. areas most of his lifetime. Michael was disabled. He graduated from Columbus Vo-Tech studying graphic arts. He enjoyed comic books and Playstation.
He was a resident of Emerald Pointe Health and Rehab Centre, Galena.
Survivors include his uncles and cousins.
Michael was taken for cremation at Parker Mortuary, Joplin. A short memorial service will be held Friday, June 17, at 2:30 p.m. at Emerald Pointe, 109 West Empire, Galena. Interment will be at 10:30 Wednesday, June 22, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 21039 Ness Road in Parsons.
