DONATE: Pitt and Jolie donate $500,000 to Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation today have announced a contribution of $500,000 to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

The donation will benefit the Joplin Recovery Fund and will support mid- and long-term rebuilding efforts.

Pitt, who grew up in Springfield, Mo., said, in a press release: “With the devastating loss of 30 percent of the city, the Joplin community faces great challenges ahead. Having spent much of my childhood there, I know these people to be hardworking, humble and especially resilient.”
