JOPLIN, Mo. —
Boomtown Days and Restore Joplin will partner together to provide Boomer Bands for 500 local children to attend Boomtown Days for free from Aug. 25-27.
Restore Joplin has donated $5,000 to purchase the Boomer Bands and is offering a challenge to other local businesses to do the same.
“We are so excited about this relationship,” Cameo Gerdes, marketing chairperson for Boomtown Days, said in a statement. “This year, more than ever, Boomtown Days is a celebration of Joplin and the people in our community. We would love for every student in Joplin to be able to come to the festival for free. If other businesses will accept the challenge that Restore Joplin has put forward, that wish would become a reality!”
Boomer Bands cost only $10 each and are good for all three days of the festival.
If your business would like to accept the Boomer Band Challenge and purchase bands for local students, contact Ginger LaMar, Boomtown Days chairperson, at 417-625-4150 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to the Boomer Band Challenge, Restore Joplin and Boomtown Days have also partnered together to create a limited edition Restore Joplin T-shirt that will be on sale only at Boomtown Days.
With the now iconic “Restore Joplin” graphic on the front and the Boomtown Days’ “We’re Still Boomin” graphic on the back, these T-shirts will only be available at Boomtown Days. The shirts will be $20 and all proceeds will be donated to tornado relief efforts.
