RESOURCE: Disaster Center to relocate; Friday is registration deadline

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Disaster Recovery Center that has operated for weeks at Taylor Performing Arts Center at Missouri Southern State University will reopen, starting today, in new quarters, according to an announcement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The center will open at 9 a.m. in Suite 5 of the Landmark Center Shopping Mall at 2640 E. 32nd St.

Today is the last day for people to register for assistance through the FEMA and through the Small Business Administration to get assistance for losses or damage caused by the May 22 tornado.

Registration may be completed at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. Those who are hearing- or speech-impaired may call 800-462-7585.
