RESOURCE: Salvation Army opens cooling station

The Salvation Army will open it’s doors at 320 East 8th Street as a cooling station for those in need. The center’s gymnasium will be open, starting Tuesday, july 19, to anyone needing to take a break from the heat and rehydrate. The Salvation Army encourages anyone at risk for heat-related illness to take advantage of the service.

  Hours of operation will be Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Joplin temperatures are expected to be in the high 90s through the weekend.
