JOPLIN, Mo. —
As the recovery from the tornado continues, Freeman Health System is issuing periodic updates to alert patients and others about changes in location and new services.
In this update, Freeman states:
— Freeman Midwest Orthopaedics has returned to its previous location at 3105 McClelland Boulevard. Call 417-347-2807 or 800-835-797.
— Tornado victims concerned about their hospital bills are encouraged to contact Freeman Patient Accounts. Freeman has modified the assistance policy for those affected by the tornado. Call 417-347-6686 or 888-707-4500 or visit in person from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Freeman Business Center, 3220 McClelland Boulevard.
All Freeman physician offices are open and in their normal locations, with these exceptions:
— Freeman neurosurgery: Dr. Ellen Nichols, Dr. Cherylon Yarosh, Dr. Laurie Behm, Physician Assistant Paul Hultman, and Nurse Practitioner Melinda Hoover are seeing patients at David A. Ball, M.D., Medical Building, 1111 McIntosh Circle Drive, Suite 307. For appointments, call 417-782-5500.
— Freeman neurology: Dr. Ahmed Robbie, Dr. Anna Wojcicka-Mitchell, and Nurse Practitioner Jennifer. They are located in Freeman Women’s Center, 1532 W. 32nd St., Suite 402. For appointments, call 417-782-5500
— Infectious Disease: Dr. Uwe Schmidt has moved to the Higgins Building, 1020 McIntosh Circle Drive, Suite 203. For appointments, call 417-347-8322.
— Dr. Tyrone Adcock: Dr. Adcock has relocated from suite 402 to suite 401 in Freeman Women’s Center, 1532 W. 32nd St. His contact is number is 417-347-7992.
— Most health plans serving the Joplin area will pay benefits in-network at Freeman. Freeman is now accepting all insurance plans.
— Freeman is recruiting nurses for general duty, intensive care, and other nursing specialties for both full-time and PRN positions. Additionally, we are recruiting emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists and intensivists.

Events to mark tornado anniversary

Grant aids Duquesne in storm recovery
Duquesne residents affected by the tornado have until Nov. 25 to haul concrete debris to the curb, after which it will be picked up and hauled away.

RESOURCE: Builders organize event for storm victims, others
Tornado victims who lost homes can meet area builders and survey some of their work during a “Meet the Builders” event today. Seminars on everything from storm shelters to green building will be conducted throughout the day.
